Polished Eye Forming

Many single-use drainage devices, like urinary drainage catheters, must be designed to prevent tissue damage and the resulting increased chances for serious infections. Patients using these catheters often do not have the sensory capacity to know if their tissues are being damaged or not. They must rely on the device’s design and quality for their own safety. Eyelets with smooth, radiused external edges and consistently shaped IDs are critical design features which requires a precise, repeatable production process. A wide variation in tube sizes, number & orientation of eyelets and eyelet configurations adds extra layers of complexity to the eye forming process.

Vante and PlasticWeld Systems diverse equipment options provide you with unmatched versatility to meet your specific production challenges.

  • Tube OD Range: Tube sizes ranging from 5Fr up to 24Fr
  • Number of Eyelets: up to 4
  • Eyelet Configurations: round and straight-sided ovals of varying lengths & widths
  • Eyelet Orientation: on the same axis or 180 degrees apart
  • Materials: Primarily PVC and some TPEs. Not suitable for rigid polymers
  • Standard Machine Configurations: 1-up, 2-up and 4-up systems depending on project details.

    Side Porting

Many single-use devices utilize side ports as a means for collecting or dispersing fluids, or supporting device deployment / actuation components.  Precise, consistently located side ports are critical design features that can only be produced using precision production equipment. A wide variation in tube sizes, number of lumen in the tube, number & orientation of side ports  and side porting configurations adds extra layers of complexity to the process.

Vante and PlasticWeld Systems diverse equipment options provide you with unmatched versatility to meet your specific production challenges.
